Job Summary
As an Actuary with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Healthcare and Insurance, Office of the Actuaries, you will perform actuarial analysis, research, and data analysis supporting retirement, health, life insurance, and/or other benefit programs; assist with actuarial valuations and premium activities; and document analytical processes and results.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with actuarial valuations of retirement, health, life insurance, and/or other benefit programs using actuarial principles and methods. Gather, compile, and analyze program experience, demographic, and other data used in actuarial analyses. Prepare data and calculations used to determine actuarial liabilities for Federal employee and annuitant benefit programs.
Conduct actuarial research and analysis used to support recommendations concerning benefit programs and policies. Analyze factors underlying actuarial issues and apply established analytical methods to assigned problems. Assist higher-graded actuaries with activities related to negotiating premiums with participating benefit program carriers. Prepare documentation summarizing the methods, computations, processes, and results of actuarial assignments.
