The incumbent serves as Administrative Officer performing a combination of routine and multiple diversified administrative functions under the general direction of a manager, program manager or more experienced professional.
Serves as the Administrative Officer in a Flight Standards Functional Area. Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited supervision of the manager. Acts as an individual contributor and/or may serve as a team leader on various projects. Applies experience and advanced knowledge as applicable to the task being performed.
Incumbent is responsible for providing and/or obtaining a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of the organization. The paramount qualifications required are advanced knowledge and understanding of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques, and skill in integrating management services with the general management of the organization.
Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time and assists others to plan and use assigned resources to complete tasks. Incumbent is primarily concerned with providing, securing, or negotiating for the resources or services needed to manage and run the organization. The work involves direct assistance to the supervisor who has the primary responsibility for the direction of the organization established to accomplish the mission.
As the office Administrative Professional: Tracks and analyzes data to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Responsible for coordinating and performing multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of the manager. May work as a team member on various projects. Responsible for planning time and assisting others to plan and use assigned resources to complete tasks.
Responsible for coordinating and accomplishing all administrative tasks in a wide range of administrative and analytical duties. Evaluates and monitors office expenditures and makes sound changes based on trends and analysis, merit and deficiency situations, and known or anticipated program changes. Performs immediate and long range planning and control for organizational services independently anticipating program changes, etc.
Coordinates with Human Resources for advice on advisory services as they relate to organizational related functions including pay and leave, and benefits. Reviews travel associated matters and manages the training program including initial and recurring. Responsible for managing the office logistics program including personal property, supplies and services, and acquisition activities, awards, OSHA, security, and vehicle management.
Procures office supplies and equipment and closely monitors expenditures and reviews purchase card statements for accuracy. Work activities may be critical to the success of projects for one or more organizational entities within the office demographic and functional area. Recommends improvements to systems and processes. Identifies, analyzes and recommends solutions to recurring problems and offers recommendations for improvements.
Interprets guidelines and provides management with advice and counsel on the operation of assigned programs and interrelationships of such programs. Work is reviewed periodically, typically at major milestones and at completion for policy compliance and alignment with other work activity. Performs additional duties as they are assigned.
Substitution of education or equivalent combinations of education and experience may be qualifying for this position. Refer to OPM's Operating Manual Qualification Standards for more information. Schools must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. . Education substitution for FV-G: Ph.D.
or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. There is no education substitution for the FV-H.
