You will serve as a Administrative Officer with National Park Service, Western Arctic National Parklands. The Western Arctic National Parklands includes three facility locations: Anchorage, Alaska, Kotzebue, Alaska and Nome, Alaska.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Provides authoritative advice on a wide range of administrative functions as these apply to the organization, as a personal advisory service to the Park/Program Manager and the organization's management team and also by directing specialists,technicians, and clerical support positions in delivering services to management and employees of the organization.
Serves as a member of the organization's management team, the incumbent plans, analyzes, and monitors the formulation and development of complex organization-wide plans, programs, procedures, operating policies, internal controls, and program goals.
Initiates business and administrative studies on the basis of his/her own independent judgment of need, to assess unusual conditions that impact the effectiveness of administrative operations, develop new programs, improve effectiveness, resolve complex problems, and other management actions that impact the organization's mission.
In dealing with the Park/Program Manager, management team, and employees of the organization, the Chief of Administration/Business Manager facilitates an appreciation of the role of administration in accomplishing the mission of the organization and a working environment that recognizes administration as a partner in the operational, planning, and partnership programs of the organization.
Serves as the principal advisor and consultant on all aspects of budget and financial management. Takes responsibility for acquiring all goods and services the organization requires to accomplish its mission and programs. Is the point of contact for all acquisition actions issued by the organization, several of which are substantially complex.
Serves as the primary liaison with the centralized HR Talent Group, coordinating the identification and communication of personnel needs and receipt of HR services from the centralized office.
This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
This position is with National Park Service, Department of the Interior.
The posted pay range is $101206 – $131571/yr.
