Job Summary

This vacancy is for a GS-0301-9, Administrative Specialist (OA) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OP LOC-OFFICE OF THE CHIEF PROSECUTOR OCP-CHARLESTON SC in NORTH CHARLESTON, South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as an Administrative Specialist (OA) and be responsible for serving as the principal administrative and secretarial support to the Office of the Chief Prosecutor and provides a broad range of clerical and administrative services to staff in all OCP offices, as assigned. You will also play a key role in facilitating communication and workflow within the office, tracking internal reporting mechanisms, and coordinating assignments.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Providing comprehensive executive, secretarial and administrative support to the Chief Prosecutor, Deputy Chief Prosecutor, and, as needed, all office staff. Advising management and staff on administrative policies and procedures.

Performing a broad range of clerical duties, including managing correspondence, greeting and assisting visitors, screening calls and guests, planning travel and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.

Coordinating with stakeholders to track and complete administrative taskers across the office; maintaining and updating unit trackers, suspense logs, tickler files, and assignment due dates, as well as closely monitoring progress and following up to ensure timely completion of all tasks.

Maintaining the OCP's electronic personnel archive and knowledge management systems (SharePoint, shared inboxes), managing accessibility through permissions, content updates, and document retrieval.

This position does not have a positive education requirement. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet Federal qualification requirements if you can show that your foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States. Student Loan - Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year. More than one loan may be repaid if the combined repayments do not exceed $10,000.

Receipt of this incentive will require a three-year service agreement.
