Job Summary

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to perform scheduled or unscheduled inspections, repairs, replacements, adjustments, modifications, troubleshooting, alignment/rig, operational runs of aircraft integrated electronic and computer-controlled propulsion systems, and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of duties set forth herein.

DUTY 1: Performs troubleshooting on a variety of complete operational aircraft reciprocating or gas turbine engines in aircraft on the flight line or rebuilt or modified engines in test cells. DUTY 2: Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles aircraft engines, their assemblies, and components. DUTY 3: Uses a variety of test equipment, hand, and power tools.

DUTY 4: Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area. DUTY 5: Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program.
