The primary purpose of this position is to The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a crew chief and technical authority, having custody of an assigned aircraft, with primary responsibility for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the maintenance and periodic inspections to the assigned aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
Serves as crew chief of assigned aircraft, responsible for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeingmaintenance on the aircraft. Performs aircraft inspections including preflight, postflight, phase, and other scheduled and unscheduledinspections. Diagnoses and identifies probable locations of malfunctions from the cockpit during engine run-up. Initiates requests for unscheduled tools, equipment, and materials during preparation for flight.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains asafe and clean work area.
This position is with Air Force Materiel Command, Department of the Air Force.
