Job Summary

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Aircraft Section Chief technical and administrative supervision through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing aircraft and associated inspections, components, systems, and ground support equipment are maintained in compliance with technical directives and in a timely manner to ensure the accomplishment of flying schedules, maintenance plans and make certain personnel are trained and ready to meet any exercise contingency.

DUTIES: DUTY 1: Performs work planning responsibilities. Performs work direction responsibilities. DUTY 2: Performs administrative responsibilities. DUTY 3: Applies Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Equal Opportunity Treatment (EOT) principles and requires all personnel management actions and decisions, and ensures all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination.

DUTY 4: Ensures education in, compliance with, and practice of security directives, good safety, and health habits in all work areas. DUTY 5: Reserve Training: Administers the reserve training and associated programs for Sortie Support Flight ensuring consistent standards throughout the flight for traditional reservists and ARTs.
