The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a work leader, to provide training, certification and knowledge of an Aircraft Mechanical Parts Repairer working directly with journeymen and non journey-men performing all tasks assigned to Aircraft Mechanical Parts Repair; Requires the performance of the full tasks of a journeyman Aircraft Mechanical Parts Repairer.
Key Responsibilities
Provides guidance and passes on to others instructions received from supervisor and gets work started.
Performs disassembly, examination, evaluation, repair, alignment, balancing, adjustment, modification, test, troubleshooting, reassembly, and functional test, calibration, and maintenance of a variety of flight control and landing gear mechanical and hydraulic components and hydro mechanical clutches to determine operational deficiencies, serviceability, and extent of disassembly for needed repair or modification.
Sets up and operates test equipment to accomplish functional and operational tests and dimensional checks to assure that flight control and landing gear components and assemblies are within required tolerances and specifications. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
