Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide rigging operations in support of the unit training missions and prepare cargo for aerial drop operations utilizing various aircrafts for multiple types of aerial delivery loads.

Selects and installs cables, ropes, chains, and other weight handling gear; assembles, repairs, and installs standing and running rigging.

Key Responsibilities

-Performs daily Personnel Parachute Rigger support. Serves as a subject matter expert and technical authority in the inspection, maintenance, packing, rigging, and repair of premeditated personnel parachute systems (PPPS), ensuring Aircrew Flight Equipment is maintained to the highest safety standards in accordance with AFMAN 11-301, Volume 1, Chapter 7 and relevant Commercial off the Shelf manuals, & industry best practices. -Performs aerial delivery rigging operations.

Prepares, rigs, and inspects aerial delivery training and operational loads which consist of but are not limited to: Container Delivery System (CDS) bundles, Cargo and Extraction parachutes, Joint Precision Aerial Delivery System (JPADS), Heavy Equipment (HE) platforms, Standard Aircrew Training Bundles (SATBs), and Combat Expendable Platforms (CEPs).

-Operates a variety of Material handling Equipment (MHE) and utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe work environment. -Performs documentation and Quality Control Inspections (QCI) tasks on all systems. Updates inspection information in a variety of automated data management systems.
