The Assistant Chief Nurse works collaboratively with the Chief Nurse for Ambulatory Care Nursing to provide higher level guidance and management of daily operations within Primary Care/Specialty Nursing at the following locations: Durham, Wake County Clinic(s), Clayton Clinic, Greenville Health Care Center, Morehead, and Cherry Point.
Assists with organizing, directing, integrating, and evaluating the clinical, administrative, evaluative, and educative processes through the assigned areas.
The Assistant Chief Nurse (ACN) ensures the implementation of all patient care policies, procedures and directives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to management, coaching, mentoring, program development, monitoring of quality metrics to include formal tracking and reporting.
Responsibilities also include assuring compliance with directives, and of staff alignments with facility qualification standards and executive career field key elements, facility annual plans and Primary Care specific strategic goals and missions. Duties include, but are not limited to: Direct supervision of Nursing professional Development Practitioners/Nurse Educators and Nursing Education program within Ambulatory Care Nursing.
Collaborate with inter-professional team in strategic planning. Quality improvement activities to monitor, assess performance targets, development and implementation of action plans to improve performance. Formal monitoring and tracking to include but not limited to he following reports: 2 Day Post Discharge, View Alert, HEDIS/Quality Metrics, V-Signals Patient experience indicators/SHEP, SAIL. Completion of chart audits. Staff development and evaluation.
Maintaining constant state of survey readiness. Ensuring compliance with standards regarding reusable medical equipment throughout service. Facilitating teamwork to accomplish positive patient care outcomes, as well as patient and staff satisfaction. Documented evidence of knowledge and skill regarding personnel issues, including recruitment and ongoing performance. Position is in Patient Care Services, reports to the Chief Nurse/Ambulatory Care Nursing.
