Job Summary

The Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for Infrastructure, Clouds and Operations is a key member of the DOT's Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) leadership team, responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Department's IT infrastructure and operations strategies; overseeing the planning, management, and execution of IT infrastructure cloud, and operations programs across the Department, ensuring alignment with DOT's mission, goals, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

As the ACIO for Infrastructure, Cloud and Operations, your duties will include: IT Infrastructure: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy that aligns with the Department's mission, goals, and objectives. Operations: Oversee the development and implementation of IT operations programs to support the efficient and effective delivery of IT services across the Department.

Cyber Security: Ensure the security and integrity of DOT's IT infrastructure and operations, including the development and implementation of cyber security policies, procedures, and standards. Cloud Computing: Develop and implement cloud computing strategies to support the Department's mission, goals, and objectives, including the use of cloud-based services and infrastructure.

Data Center Operations: Oversee the development and implementation of data center operations programs to support the efficient and effective delivery of IT services across the Department. Network Operations: Develop and implement network operations programs to support the efficient and effective delivery of IT services across the Department.

Collaboration: Collaborate with other federal agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to share best practices, intelligence, and resources to enhance DOT's IT infrastructure and operations capabilities. Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the development and management of the IT infrastructure and operations budget and resource allocation to ensure that programs are properly funded and resourced.

Work closely with senior leaders, program managers, and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and manage IT infrastructure and operations initiatives that support the Department's strategic objectives.

Requirements & Education

If you are qualifying for this position by substituting education or training for experience, submit a copy of your transcripts or equivalent. A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
