Job Summary
This announcement is issued under the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to recruit for positions for which there is a critical hiring need. Selectee(s) will receive a career or career-conditional appointment in the competitive service and may be required to serve a one year probationary period. The official title of this position is Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) GS-2210-15.
Key Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Regional Chief of Cybersecurity for a CISA Region leading a cadre of Cybersecurity IT Specialists performing operational cybersecurity work to defend cyber infrastructure and architecture assets.
Typical work assignments include, but are not limited to: Coordinating partner outreach and support through Federal and State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) government, and critical infrastructure relationships; aligning resources and milestones to DHS/CISA/IOD goals.
Analyzing results from subordinate-led engagements to develop multi-regional strategies; and communicates CISA cybersecurity initiatives and capabilities through briefings, conferences, and public speaking. Conducting and overseeing cyber protective visits and strategic cyber risk assessments. Developing cybersecurity operational analysis and planning (e.g., regional annual operations planning). Advising senior leadership on strategic cybersecurity issues and risk reduction.
