Incumbents will serve as an Attorney-Adviser (General) in the Office of Counsel, Defense Logistics Agency, Weapon Support, a Major Subordinate Command, located in Warren, MI. Under the supervision of a DLA Counsel - Weapons Support Deputy Chief Counsel, the incumbent serves as a Senior Counsel for the DLA Weapons Support Detachment at Warren, Michigan. The incumbent is one of two co-located attorneys serving a local client of approximately 80 acquisition professionals in partnership with and support from the home legal office of legal professionals in DLA Counsel - Weapons Support located in Richmond, Virginia, and Columbus, Ohio.
If selected at the GS-13 Level duties will be performed in a developmental capacity: Provides legal advice, counsel and representation to detachment management and contracting officials on acquisition and contract administration matters.
Provides legal advice on contract formation, including contract authority and delegations, commercial items, competitive and limited-sources, contract review, foreign acquisition, pricing, socioeconomics, source selection, fiscal law, and protests. Provides legal advice and representation on contract administration matters, such as changes, delivery and quality, performance, terminations, and contract litigation.
Advises detachment management and contracting officials concerning civilian labor and employment matters, ethics, fraud, and general administrative law matters. As needed, provides legal representation before the , Government Accountability Office, Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Merit Systems Protection Board. Performs other duties as assigned.
