This position is located in the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) Headquarters, Internal Review Office. The incumbent serves as a senior auditor responsible for planning executing, and reporting on a wide variety of complex audits of government programs, operations, and financial statements. The purpose of these audits is to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness, and to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse in government operations with the DeCA.
Independently plans and conducts complex performance, financial, and compliance audits by developing audit scopes, objectives, methodologies, and risk assessments. Gathers, analyzes, and evaluates financial, operational, and compliance data using advanced analytical techniques to identify deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Develops well-supported audit findings and prepares clear, concise audit reports and briefings that communicate results and recommendations to senior management. Ensures all audit documentation is complete, accurate, and sufficiently detailed to allow an experienced auditor to understand procedures performed and conclusions reached.
Provides technical guidance to peers, participates in special projects and internal reviews, and maintains professional proficiency through ongoing training and education. Read the entire announcement before starting the application process.
