This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. This position starts at a salary of $147,899.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $192,275.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Typical duties include: Serving as a CBP international law enforcement advisor and representative to foreign government officials, international law enforcement partners, U.S. Embassy personnel, interagency stakeholders, and CBP personnel assigned overseas.
Analyzing geopolitical, border security, immigration, trade, and law enforcement risk factors within assigned regions to identify threats, assessing operational impacts, and supporting CBP policy, program, and engagement decisions.
Developing, coordinating, and supporting technical assistance and capacity-building programs with foreign partners, including training, advisory services, international visits, joint enforcement support, and sharing of border security best practices. Preparing and presenting reports, briefings, talking points, issue papers, option papers, position papers, and decision memoranda for CBP senior leadership, U.S.
Government officials, and foreign government partners on complex regional and operational matters. Coordinating with CBP operational components, U.S. interagency partners, foreign counterparts, and international organizations to support border security cooperation, information sharing, strategic planning, and regional engagement objectives.
