This positon is located at the San Diego, CA VA Healthcare System. The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Budget Analyst, Financial Resources Management Service, Budget department.
Major duties include but are not limited to: Provides financial advice and performs financial assistance for internal agency operating programs Responsible for developing and formulating budget estimates and projections for salaries, supplies, and services; analyzing current obligations against distribution of funds and historical expenditures Performs budget formulation duties involved in the process of preparing detailed analyses and estimates of annual funding needs for one or more future budget years Prepares documents needed to process budget estimates, requests for supplemental appropriations, requests for deficient apportionments, and allotments Receives the call for budget for the medical center's programs Reviews historical financial operating data and trends to prepare and/or validate estimates Resolves complex problems of prediction and forecasting which result from uncertainties or changes in the operating programs Consolidates estimates and prepares justification for a consolidated budget Prepares a variety of reports related to the status of funds, expenses, obligations, FTE and workload.
Analyzes and evaluates the effects of program plans and budget issues Other duties as assigned Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
