This position is located at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, NY (VISN 2). The Budget Analyst performs work by applying budget analysis theory, concepts, methods and procedures connected with the budget formulation, and execution of VA's particular programs, systems, procedures, functions, and structure of the supported organizational component/facility.
The duties include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodology of budget formulation to review, edit and consolidate budget estimates from Headquarters and to adjust data in related forms and schedules. Knowledge of principles and objectives (laws, statues, and regulations) of Government Budget to perform regular, standard assignments for appropriate fund activities.
Find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed and develop performance standard and manages performance appraisal program. Ability to analyze and prepare financial reports for financial management. Knowledge of and skill in performing functions associated with the operating system and software capability to manipulate data, perform queries and produce reports.
Skill in communicating orally and in writing to obtain and provide information related to budget matters. Other duties as assigned.
