Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Buffalo Field Office, Centers of Excellence & Expertise, Industrial & Manufacturing Materials, located in Buffalo, NY. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
In this position, you will serve as the Center Director with responsibility for all aspects of Center management. You will also ensure the Center develops and maintains industry expertise and provides assistance related to financial matters, commodity issues, industry analysis, enforcement actions, paralegal activities, and account management. This position starts at a salary of $154,707.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $197,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10).
Typical work assignments include: Managing organizational changes and directing the oversight of operational and tactical trade responsibilities within a center Coordinating with senior level law enforcement managers to manage and approve significant enforcement actions, including criminal investigations and prosecutions Ensuring Implementation of a comprehensive, nationwide risk segmentation strategy to improve the facilitation and increase the flow of trusted traffic for legitimate trade within an assigned industry and ensure that enforcement activities are focused on high-risk shipments Responsible for overall management of the goals and objectives for supervisors and managers of subordinate employees.
