This vacancy is for a GS-0318-8, Command Secretary located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE PORTSMOUTH FACILITIES ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT -F in PORTSMOUTH, Virginia.
You will serve as a Command Secretary and be responsible for providing secretarial and office management support, and directing all program, administrative and support operations for the Command. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Managing administrative operations, correspondences, records, suspense actions, calenders, and office procedures.
Communicating professionally and effectively with senior leaders, staff, and external organizations.. Preparing, reviewing, and editing correspondence, memorandum, reports, and other official documents for accuracy and proper format. Organizing competing requirements, establishes priorities, manages suspenses, and meets critical deadlines. Responding effectively to changing priorities, short-notice requirements, and mission demands.
