The position is located at the Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC, and is organizationally aligned within the Health Administration Service, serving as a Training Specialist.
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Provides computer-assisted instruction. Applies a wide range of teaching tools. Runs reports. Meets the needs of customers while supporting the VA mission. Consistently communicates with and treats customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately.
Knowledge of theories, concepts, principles, and techniques that enable innovative adjustments to standard educational methodologies. Knowledge of trainer/facilitator skills, oral and written communication skills, negotiation techniques, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people with differing backgrounds. Knowledge of theories, principles, practices, and techniques of program evaluation and measurement and management tools and techniques.
Provides leadership and guidance as an educational advisor and consultant. Projects appropriate budgetary requirements and maintains training schedules. Conducts analyses of training requirements and needs through use of surveys, job analyses, interviews, and personal collaborations.
