Job Summary

This position is located in Region Six, Mission Support Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with Federal contracting laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including all phases of the procurement process such as planning, solicitation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout.

The incumbent will also have experience conducting market research, developing acquisition documentation, evaluating proposals, and performing cost and price analysis.

Key Responsibilities

What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will be reviewing and processing acquisition packages to include examining acquisition documents such as Statements of Work, Independent Government Cost Estimates, market research reports, acquisition plans, and requests for proposals to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant.

Typical assignments include: Conducting market research to Identify potential vendors, reviewing market conditions, assessing available sources, and documenting findings to support procurement decisions. Evaluating contractor proposals and pricing by analyzing bids, cost estimates, and price proposals to determine responsiveness, responsibility, reasonableness, and best value to the Government.

Serving as a liaison between program staff, project officers, financial staff, auditors, contractors, and Contracting Officers to support timely and effective procurement actions. Assisting with procurement planning, solicitations, negotiations, contract documentation, contract administration, and closeout or transition activities. What else do I need to know?

All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

college or university, or foreign education evaluated by an organization recognized for accreditation by the Department of Education as education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. college or university.
