Charged with the managerial responsibility for the contracting, procurement and property management. Establishes local procurement and contracting procedures ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Reviews procurement submissions for adequacy and completeness and resolves any problems prior to contractual action. Provides technical support and guidance to subordinate staff members designated responsibility for the operation of various service functions.
Implements new procedures as dictated by higher authority. Provides legal interpretation, counseling, training, and guidance in all areas of contract and procurement, including cost and price analysis. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with the responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
