This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Business Intelligence, Analytics & Reporting Branch. As a Data Scientist, you will lead the Fiscal Service's data program, which aims to improve the use and accessibility of data internally, for federal agencies, and the public.
As a Data Scientist, you will: Independently develop research studies, analyses, and projects that affect the programs and policies of the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) and other government agencies. Generate insights from evaluating situational, operational, and behavioral data through the intersection of statistical, computational, and contextual domains.
Execute and control projects that represent an important segment of the agency's operating programs and/or projects. Provide consultation to key personnel inside and outside of government, including to Federal Reserve Banks, and senior executives from major organizations and corporations involved in using federal financial data and doing business with the government.
Basic Requirements: A- Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or B- Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
