The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS), a tertiary care referral facility in New Orleans is recruiting a full-time Dentist to serve as Chief, Dental Service, a position reporting to the Chief of Staff. The incumbent will lead a growing dental program which serves about 70,000 Veterans.

Major Duties/Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: The incumbent is fully accountable and for the effective and efficient management and supervision (planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating) of SLVHCS dental program and services.
Responsibilities include exercising administrative, programmatic, clinical, and academic oversight of dental programs to ensure delivery of quality, patient-focused clinical services; coordinating and integrating both clinical and administrative aspects of the dental programs to meet the needs of the Veteran population.
Continuously reviewing and evaluating the professional performance, competence and professionalism of all individuals with clinical privileges; ensuring that there is compliance with all accrediting organizations' standards that are applicable to dental programs.
The incumbent assures that performance measures are met, provides efficient management of resources and budgetary constraints, facilities a collaborative and collegial team environment, develops orientation and training of dental staff and identifies needs and concerns concerning the service. The preferred candidate will be board certified with fellowship training and with prior leadership experience.
Demonstrated accomplishment in scholarly activities such as clinical research, education and publications are also preferred. SLVHCS is affiliated with two medical schools (LSU and Tulane) and has large medical education programs. Candidates must meet the requirements for a faculty position at the affiliated medical schools. Work Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
