VA Bedford Medical Center is recruiting for a Dentist - The Staff Dentist serves as a practicing dental provider that performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures.
The General Dentistry dental officer shall be proficient in all aspects of general dentistry including the ability to perform selected specialty services. Specifically, the provider should possess the expertise and competency to perform the following: Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and provide interpretation of imaging. Review of medical history and apply knowledge to patient management. Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions.
Perform treatment planning, including multi-step, complex plans with input from specialists as needed. Administer local anesthesia. Perform routine and complex restoration of teeth. Perform routine extractions and other surgical procedures within the scope of a general dentist. Perform prosthetic dentistry, including immediate dentures, full and partial dentures, crowns and fixed bridge work.
Perform routine dental implant restorations Perform routine endodontic procedures on single and multi-canal teeth. Perform routine periodontal procedures.
