Key Responsibilities

As the Director Field Operations (Mid-Atlantic), Northeastern Compliance you will assist the Director of Northeastern Compliance in coordinating complex tax administration services to meet the needs of large and mid-sized businesses and individuals with international activity.

The Director Field Operations Mid-Atlantic Northeastern Compliance performs the following duties and responsibilities: Formulate short and long-range program policies, strategies, and objectives on all matters relating to the Northeastern Compliance practice area. Study compliance issues within the Northeastern Compliance practice area; suggest campaigns to be included in the work plan; and provide leadership for the execution of examinations.

Promote collaboration within the Northeastern Compliance practice area and with other LB&I functions. This includes working with Counsel to develop guidance and improve compliance strategies. Provide executive leadership and direction through subordinate managers that are geographically located within the practice area. Delegate sufficient authority to subordinates to effectively manage their resources and to provide a supportive environment for creativity and innovation.

Manage all human, physical, information technology, and financial resources of the assigned area and allocate these resources in accordance with overall strategies to further the accomplishment of specific goals. Continuously evolve to keep pace with LB&I's filing population, which competes in a dynamic, rapidly changing, global economy.

Stay abreast of a broad range of current developments, trends, policy considerations, legislative proposals and legal matters, and its effect on Federal tax administration. Remain aware of the internal climate that affects policies of the Internal Revenue Service and collaborate with other IRS executives in setting priorities and objectives for LB&I.

Cultivate an environment of continuous learning to support a flexible workforce with focused training, foundational skillsets, specialized knowledge, and dynamic tools. Utilize data analytics and examiner feedback to select better work with intended compliance outcomes. Gather, assesse, and incorporate feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Employ an integrated set of tailored treatment streams to improve flexibility to address current and emerging issues and achieve compliance outcomes. Drive continual collection and analysis of data and feedback to enhance ability to focus, plan, and execute work, and promote innovation and feedback-based improvement.
