The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Headquarters 12 AF (Air Forces Southern), Manpower, Personnel, and Services Directorate (A1).
Key Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Twelfth Air Force, Air Forces Southern Command, A1 Directorate. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization, civilian/ military personnel, and Manpower, Personnel, and Services in support of 12 AF (AFSOUTH), USSOUTHCOM and ACC's objectives. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors.
Represents the Twelfth Air Force, Air Forces Southern Command with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with 2-star Commander, 4-star Combatant Commander, HAF, ACC, AFPC, AF Guard and Reserve Units, and USSOUTHCOM's components.
Performs ongoing evaluation and analysis of the operational planning and execution actions, and policy actions in support of major Air Force missions and COCOM/operational and long range planning for 12 AF (AFSOUTH) units, staff, and outside organizations. Requires significant depth of joint/combined military operations, joint/combined planning, and leadership experience; extensive formal training on US command and control of joint/combined.
