This position is part of the Department of War (DoW), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for serving as an engineer for building and infrastructure electrical systems for MDA facilities across the lifecycle (Planning, Design, Construction, Operation, Sustainment and Disposal of MDA facilities).
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Engineering and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path.
As an Electrical Engineer at the NH-0850-3 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serving as an engineer for building and infrastructure electrical systems for MDA facilities across the lifecycle (Planning, Design, Construction, Operation, Sustainment and Disposal of MDA facilities).
Researching electrical implementation strategies for military construction (MILCON), Operation and Maintenance(O&M) funded design and construction, and Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)-funded design and construction of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) sites/facilities and real property acquisition.
Designing, modifying, and recommending electrical upgrades of existing facilities and infrastructure of Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) projects in support of MDA Facilities Management, with site personnel, Service Departments, DoW agencies, and other Government agencies. Providing government oversight of facility design and construction activities, including site wide electrical utility infrastructure at assigned locations.
Reviewing facility and infrastructure contract drawings and specifications for adequacy and sufficiency in meeting agency needs and requirements.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. All materials must be submitted by the closing date of the announcement.
