This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to remove, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild integrated electronic avionics systems where the output of a number of sensor subsystems is integrated into a logic subsystem and the resultant used to modify the operation of the total system.
DUTY 1: Removes, installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, and rebuilds integrated electronic avionics systems where the output of a number of sensor subsystems is integrated into a logic subsystem and the resultant used to modify the operation of the total system. DUTY 2: Performs pretest, operational (functional), or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
DUTY 3: (Electro-Environmental) Installs, inspects, modifies, repairs, services, replaces, adjusts and overhauls complex integrated electrical/ environmental systems, both on and off equipment, to include, but not limited to: oxygen, fire suppression, air conditioning, pressurization, ice/rain protection, bleed air systems, avionics cooling systems, cargo/mission handling, missile interface units/bomb doors, anti-skid systems, landing gear, ignition, stall warning, flight control, AC/DC power supply and distribution, Integrated Drive Generator, fuel and explosive systems.
DUTY 4: Advises engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) and/or modifications on new or existing equipment. DUTY 5: Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work area.
