This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), in the Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management (DTSEM), Division of Engineering Services, located in Sandy, UT. This position has a full performance level of GS-12. This position is inside the bargaining unit. Additional selections may be made from this job announcement. This position is NOT remote.
Selectee will be expected to report to the office listed above.
Duties for the Electronics Engineer include, but are not limited to: Performing repair and calibration of OSHA instrumentation and equipment as needed and reviewing the adequacy of field instruments for enforcement of OSHA standards. Preparing and presenting written and oral reports in a clear and concise manner to scientific and professional audiences when appropriate.
Developing and maintaining the necessary software for operation and control of computer-operated or -assisted calibration systems. Providing technical assistance to technicians. Assist the supervisory engineer in training junior technicians to use, calibrate, and repair electronic instruments and their calibration systems. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex with less supervision.
