This position is located in Office of National Continuity Programs- Continuity Implementation Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have robust experience with stakeholder engagement and coordination while also developing and leading national response, preparedness, or continuity planning, project management, and exercise design and implementation.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as an Emergency Management Specialist in the Programs & Requirements Branch within the Continuity Implementation Division, Office of National Continuity Programs. You will provide subject matter expertise to support a range of continuity plans, operations, exercises, and assessment responsibilities.
Typical assignments include: Developing, testing, implementing, and updating preparedness, continuity, or operational plans in coordination with key stakeholders. Developing and implementing continuity exercises, after-action reports, and corrective action plans. Planning and implementing interagency meetings with Federal executive branch counterparts to ensure coordination and implementation of policies, guidance, plans, and exercises.
Serve as a liaison with counterparts in Federal departments and agencies. Developing and implementing project plans and monitoring performance measures to ensure programmatic objectives are achieved and effective. What else do I need to know? Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
