This position is located in Region 7 National Preparedness Division.The ideal candidate for this position will possess experience managing the administration of an organization's continuity of operations program to include experience with continuity training, exercises, and plan development; and knowledge, development, advising, and maintaining a Sensitive Compartmented Information program.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will be an Emergency Management Specialist. Typical assignments include: Providing expert program guidance related to the planning, conduct, and analysis of national, regional, and FEMA continuity programs. Coordinating the implementation of FEMA's national security-related and continuity activities.
Participating in and coordinating the near-term and long-range development, planning, and implementation of Agency continuity programs and plans. Drafting and reviewing continuity plans for effectiveness and integration with national security programs related to other federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, non-governmental organizations, and private sector critical infrastructure owners and operators.
Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing continuity and national security programs and operations data and statistics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of internal continuity processes and procedures. Providing briefings on continuity programs to wide-ranging audiences. What else do I need to know? Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
