This position is located in Response Directorate, Planning Division, National Planning Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will have knowledge and experience relevant to emergency management planning and operations for a variety of hazards. They will apply the principles of the National Incident Management System; use project management, data analytics, and customer service in their daily work; and lead teams to solve challenging problems.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Emergency Management Specialist. Typical assignments include: Coordinating response/recovery planning teams to develop federal plans, including the Response and Recovery Federal Incident Operations Plan and related incident annexes.

Promotion Potential: Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval. Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
