In this position you will work as a member of the Region Five, Response Division team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in technical writing, written/oral communication, open-source intelligence, data literacy/data analytics, data visualization, intelligence analysis, and team leadership.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Watch Officer with the Region Five, Response Division. Typical assignments include: Monitoring warnings, alerts, and notifications using a wide variety of communication systems and conducting ongoing analysis, as events develop to determine impacts and recommendations.
Coordinating with state and territorial Emergency Operation Centers, regional department Emergency Support Functions, Department of Homeland Security components, and, where applicable, state fusion centers, and Joint Terrorism Task Force. Collecting and distributing incident information to FEMA National Watch Center to develop a national Common Operating Picture.
Providing and maintaining 24-hour regional situational awareness for classified and unclassified all-hazard incidents by producing regional level reports to the National Watch Center, FEMA leadership and applicable partners. Preparing and distributing daily reports as identified in this guide and as required by regional senior leadership. What else do I need to know?
