This position is located in Response and Continuity Branch, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. The supervisor is Eva Brown. This position is subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements. This position is subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will perform the full range of Emergency Response Coordinator duties. Such duties include but are not limited to: Coordinate NRC Emergency Response and Continuity Programs across HQ, regions, and interagency partners; ensure alignment with national response structures and sustain operational readiness.
Develop, maintain, and conduct responder training and regional interface programs; identify gaps and provide guidance to standardize interfaces and improve effectiveness during incidents, drills, and exercises. Lead and support interagency agreements and national emergency planning initiatives; participate in negotiating and refining agreements with Federal and State agencies and serve as liaison to national emergency planning entities.
Plan, coordinate, and evaluate multi-agency drills and HSEEP-aligned exercises; integrate lessons learned into program improvements, training enhancements, and updated response procedures. Prepare response related concept of operations and interagency correspondence; monitor evolving national directives and recommend actions to NRC leadership.
Support Operations Center readiness and incident participation; maintain qualifications, provide technical guidance, and manage special projects that advance NRC Incident Response and Continuity programs.
