Key Responsibilities

This position is located in the Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center, Milwaukee, a complexity facility with a campus listed on the National Register of Historic places, comprised of 49 over buildings, 34 of which are classified as historic buildings, The functions as an Engineering Technician in the Facility Management Division, is expected to directly deal with U.S. Government staff, architectural/engineering designers, construction and maintenance contractors.

Determines basic requirements, reconnaissance, location, and assists designers in the preparation of designs, specifications and construction estimates for Non-Reoccurring Maintenance (NRM) Construction Projects.

Applies a broad knowledge of methods, precedents, and standards to significantly diverse and intense engineering work complexities to support a campus listed on the National Register of Historic places, comprised of over 49 buildings, 34 of which are classified as historic buildings, with a total square footage of over 1.8 million square feet on 125 acres.

Analyzes project cost proposals in conjunction with the GLAC; recommends changes and/or approves minor contractor proposals ensuring economy of the work. Performs or directs surveys and investigations to establish baseline data necessary to initiate design for renovations, alterations, and additions to the existing hospital, patient care facilities, administrative buildings, grounds, utility plants and systems and historic buildings listed on the national registry.

Evaluates programs and projects to assure compliance with all environmental, energy use, safety and security standards. Provides management support services in the areas of program cost analysis, annual/multi-year/long range fiscal planning, and development of annual work-plan(s).

Performs research tasks to obtain a variety of costs, schedule, and performance data; analyzes data Work Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday-Friday, may be required to be present to provide off-hours support for utility outages, maintenance and projects support. Not eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS) or telework. Position Description/PD#: PD#16101A
