Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. Key Responsibilities

As an Environmental Health Scientist you will: Provide evaluations of imminent health threats associated with emergency releases of toxic and radioactive waste and other chemical incidents. Develop, prepare, and present technical materials for publication and distribution to other federal agencies, state and local governments, and the public.

Maintain scientific liaison with other professionals from the Environmental Protection Agency, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other federal and state agencies, to remain cognizant of the latest developments of environmental health science as it relates to branch functions.

Requirements & Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
