Job Summary

This ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST position is located in the Division of Hydropower Licensing in the Office of Energy Projects. For more information visit: Office of Energy Projects(OEP).

Key Responsibilities

This position is available in the Division of Hydropower Licensing in the Office of Energy Projects. As an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST some of your typical work assignments include: Playing a key role in effectively interacting with Federal and state agencies in Western states that have a mandated license and exemption conditioning authority or a consultation role in FERC hydropower processes in an effort to increase the efficiency of these processes.

Organizing, planning, and providing the direction and initiative required to ensure coverage of significant environmental impacts and the timely completion of NEPA documents. Preparing input to correspondence, orders, and environmental documents on exceptionally difficult and highly complex environmental related matters. Representing the Commission at meetings, conferences, and planning sessions with other federal agencies related to environmental concerns.

Requirements & Education

There is no education requirement for this position; therefore, transcripts are not required. This position has an education requirement and therefore, transcripts are required. PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.

Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
