The Executive Officer has oversight authority in directing the activities of several offices within the Office of the Assistant Attorney General, Energy and Natural Resources Division (ENRD). The position provides leadership and oversight on programmatic, operational, and administrative matters pertaining to the Division.
Serving as a key policy advisor and resource manager, the incumbent ensures effective delivery of services between the Justice Management Division (JMD) and the Division.
Responsibilities for the Executive Officer include, but are not limited to, the following: Advises senior leadership on programmatic, operational, and administrative matters pertaining to the Division. Supervises, directs, mentors, and evaluates high-level (GS-15) subordinate supervisors. Partners with the Assistant Attorney General to establish strategic goals and annual operating plans.
Works with the Comptroller and Chief Legal Advisor to coordinate budget formulation and justification, fiscal responsibility, and funding requests for the Division. Formulates long-range plans to optimize the use of resources, funds, and materials. Serves as principal advisor to the Justice Management Division to ensure their delivery of support services for the Division. Oversees full-spectrum human resources, including recruitment, hiring, payroll, performance, and leave.
Oversees contract management across a broad range of technical and administrative services. Oversees facility infrastructure, including space planning, procurement, and telecommunications. Oversees security programs, encompassing physical safety, background checks, and continuity plans. Provides authoritative guidance to resolve programmatic issues and policy conflicts. Represents the Division at departmental, inter-agency, or external executive meetings.
