The selectee will Serves as the File Clerk in the Health Information Management Section (HIMS) under the Health Administration Service (HAS) at the Miami VA Medical Center (2) & William Bill Kling VA Clinic (1). The File Clerk is responsible for the receipt, intake, collection, and preparation of health and administrative information for the document imaging process. As part of the collection process, the Mail Clerk retrieves paper records from all pertinent hospital units.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Scanning paper medical records into the electronic health record. Indexing scanned images to the correct patient, note title, encounter, consult, etc. Performing quality control checks to assure documents entered in the electronic health record are accurate, timely, legible, complete and reliable.
