This vacancy is for a GS - 0503 - 7, Fiscal Resources Tech located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE BOSTON in BOSTON, Massachusetts.
You will serve as a Fiscal Resources Tech and be responsible for serving as a Fiscal Resources Technician assisting the Finance and Accounting Division Chief in providing technician work in support of accounting, budgeting, and fiscal operations to the Base staff, units, and customers. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Reviews and reconciliates Program Element Status (PES) reports for assigned staff accounts which encompass numerous Allotment Fund Control (AFC) codes in Core Accounting System (CAS). Funds managers are kept informed of the current status of their funds.
Maintains official accounting records by reviewing data, monitoring account activity, and resolving problems to ensure that all financial transactions are properly executed and recorded in Core Accounting System (CAS) in a timely manner. Reviews financial activities to determine adherence to current policies and procedures.
Conducts periodic account reviews to identify real or potential situations of deficient or omitted account reconciliation, undelivered order validation, and similar tasks.
This position does not have a positive education requirement. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
