Job Summary

You will serve as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist in Region 4, Florida Ecological Services Field Office. Position may be filled in Vero Beach, FL, Jacksonville, FL, or Panama City, FL. This position is responsible for conserving, protecting, and enhancing fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats through work involving endangered species, Federal activities, habitat restoration, and environmental contaminants with a focus on priority transportation and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Coordinate with Florida Department of Transportation to ensure projects comply with the Endangered Species Act. Conduct investigations to assess impacts of development on fish, wildlife, plants, wetlands, and sensitive habitats. Lead Endangered Species Act activities, including reviews, consultations, and conservation recommendations.

Evaluate permit applications and environmental documents for effects on fish and wildlife. Analyze biological data, prepare reports, and negotiate mitigation measures. Provide training on priority and emerging resource issues. Handle billing, reporting, and administrative tasks.

Requirements & Education

A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
