As a General Engineer, you will perform the following duties: Serve as a General Engineer providing technical expertise in engineering integrity and analyses for the comprehensive lifecycle of multi-billion dollar observing systems, with international scope and Congressional interest impacting the Nation.
Exercise professional judgment under the supervision of a more senior engineer to assist in leading project direction, investigate complex technical anomalies, and collaborate on the formulation of new standards or engineering approaches. Oversee and coordinate the planning and prioritization of projects throughout the project lifecycle.
Under the direction of a senior engineer, track and communicate project progress, identify and analyze significant program risk areas for effectiveness and efficiency, and manage project and technical activities to ensure the program meets established objectives.
Collaborate with other agencies, international partners, and industry stakeholders to facilitate development efforts involving the transition and application of new research, emerging technology, and data observation. Serve on committees and boards as a subject matter expert, consultant, and advisor, providing engineering expertise to observation projects that impact external organizations.
Substitution of education for specialized experience is not applicable to this vacancy.
