Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Global Health Center, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. This announcement will close at 11:59 PM, on the day that 50 applications have been received or the closing date of the announcement, whichever comes first.
Key Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Global Health Specialist, you will: Advise CDC supervisors on developing justifications for establishment of overseas positions (NSDD38, details, workforce plans, etc.) and reviews proposals and requests for the deployment of overseas assignees to determine the best means of meeting requirements.
Provide oversight and guidance to managers and staff on the deployment and support of overseas assignees; respond to questions on policy and regulatory issues; serve as the CDC/DHHS expert on overseas deployment; and advise on the benefits and entitlements accruing to overseas assignees.
Coordinate with CDC and embassy officials on State Department procedures for embassy assignments, details, temporary duty assignments, and temporary station changes, and resolve issues by coordinating with management officials across agency and departmental lines. This position has 20% supervisory duties. Candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
