Job Summary

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Information Policy (OIP), FOIA Compliance Staff. A primary mission of OIP is to encourage and oversee agency compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). OIP is responsible for developing government-wide policy guidance on all aspects of FOIA administration. OIP also provides legal counsel and training to agency personnel.

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Senior Analyst on Office of Information Policy (OIP's) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Compliance Staff. The incumbent plays a key role in the administration and modernization of technology platforms that support FOIA processing and reporting across the Department and, in certain cases, across the federal government.

This position takes the lead in working with developers on the resolution of issues with OIP's website and FOIA.gov and has strong technical web development experience. This position is responsible for several projects simultaneously and has technical web expertise as well as significant FOIA legal and compliance expertise.

The duties and responsibilities for a Government Information Specialist (FOIA and Technology), GS-0306-13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: * Serve as a Senior Analyst on OIP's FOIA compliance staff. * Modernizing of technology platforms that support FOIA processing. * Maintains OIP's web content. * Leads Information Technology initiatives as well as projects involving FOIA.

* Works with developers on resolution of issues with OIP's website and FOIA.gov * Serve as the principal program administrator for OIP's web presence, including OIP's public website and the Department-wide FOIA portal. * Oversees updated to both websites with key FOIA policy developments, training materials, reporting data, agency contact information and other public resources.

* Coordinates directly with contractors, vendors, and government technical personnel responsible for the development and maintenance of FOIA technology platforms. * Oversees coordination of cybersecurity and compliance activities related to FOIA technology platforms.
