Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
The Chief, OLA, holds BOP-wide responsibility for aligning legislative positions and authorizing official communications with Congress. Directs the full range of legislative affairs activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent engagement with Members of Congress, committees, Department of Justice (DOJ) leadership, and other Executive Branch entities.
Establishes OLA's vision, priorities, and performance goals; develops multi-year legislative engagement strategies aligned with BOP and DOJ priorities. Tracks, analyzes, and prioritizes legislation; coordinates BOP technical assistance and legislative proposals, to include reviewing draft Bills and providing input and feedback on the potential impact on the BOP; manages the clearance of testimony, Questions for the Record (QFR), and policy statements.
Maintains audit-ready records and controlled unclassified information in accordance with statutory, DOJ, and BOP requirements
