Job Summary

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office whose mission is to promote excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In our dynamic environment, the OIG conducts investigations, audits, evaluations, and inspections to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency and to detect and prevent waste, fraud, and mismanagement in DHS programs and operations.

Key Responsibilities

This position is in the Executive Office (EO) of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Typical assignments include: Serves as the principal official responsible for planning, directing, administering, and evaluating the OIG Workforce Accountability Program (WAP) and the operations of the Office of Workforce Accountability.

Establishes program priorities, operating objectives, internal controls, performance measures, and resource requirements necessary to accomplish the office's mission. Develops statements of work, task order requirements, and scope memoranda for contract investigative engagements; establishes deliverable standards, timelines, and quality expectations; and evaluates contractor performance.

Prepares and presents periodic and annual program reports to the Chief of Staff and Inspector General, including caseload, disposition, timeliness, consistency, systemic trends, and organizational risk. Determines staffing, skills, workload distribution, and resource requirements necessary to accomplish program objectives.

Establishes work priorities and operating procedures and holds subordinate staff accountable for the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of assigned work
