Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, Division of Grants Management Operations located in Rockville, Maryland. Key Responsibilities

As a Grants Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Performing in-depth financial and administrative analyses of a variety of grant mechanisms to determine if costs are reasonable and allowable within prescribed policies covering items such as personal services, equipment, facilities, and other relevant factors.

Providing administration of a grant portfolio including setting appropriate work priorities, applying knowledge of organizational needs and deadlines, and consistent follow-up to assure receipt of required documentation. Reviewing and coordinating the business management activities related to the audit resolution of monetary and non-monetary findings identified in audits conducted in accordance with accepted government accounting standards.

Providing consultation and technical assistance to program staff, other Federal staff, applicants, and grantees. Attending grant review meetings and providing administrative and budgetary information.

Providing guidance and interpreting grants policy and procedures to program staff, principal investigators, and administrators at grantee institutions.

Requirements & Education

Substitution of Education for Experience: There is no substitution of education to meet the specialized experience requirement at the GS-12 grade level.
