Job Summary

This position provides essential support to a health care system's Corporate Compliance Department by assisting with compliance monitoring, auditing, and quality assurance initiatives for the Controlled Substance Inspection Program, Privacy, Research Compliance, Records Management, and Integrity and Compliance Program.

The employee helps coordinate inspection activities and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to promote adherence to laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Major duties include: Assist in coordinating and supporting the facility's controlled substance inspection program, including facilitating unannounced inspections, documenting findings, and assisting with follow-up actions on discrepancies. Develop, prepare, and revise training materials related to compliance and inspection activities; provide training for staff and programs as needed.

Support the development and implementation of written policies, procedures, and memorandums to address specific compliance risks and promote organizational integrity. Gather, review, and help summarize statistical data and inspection reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis, contributing to performance measurement and compliance reporting.

Review and help document trends and frequency of noncompliance; develop corrective action plans and monitor progress on unresolved issues. Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and inspectors to facilitate communication, adjudicate discrepancies, and report areas of concern for program improvement. Maintain records and documentation related to compliance training, inspection activities, and audit findings, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Assist with the recruitment, assessment, and coordination of inspector competency evaluations and training needs within the inspection program. Participate in external reviews and facilitate follow-up actions, including responding to regulatory surveys and audits by oversight organizations. Support business functions, audit and monitoring activities, including compiling findings, applying internal controls, and preparing formal reports and recommendations for management.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (work hours may be further discussed during the interview). Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Physical Requirements: You will be asked to participate in a pre-employment evaluation as part of the pre-employment process for this position.

The work is generally sedentary with some visits to worksites requiring walking and standing, especially when conducting an inspection. Some bending, stooping, and carrying light items such as paper, binders and medical charts is required. Keyboarding, communications, either by telephone or in person, filing and record keeping are the principal activities.

Work Conditions: The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted, climate controlled and ventilated office setting. The incumbent must adhere to the safety requirements and clinical requirements applicable to the various areas he/she may visit to perform work assignments. May require occasional travel to meetings, trainings or conferences. A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education.
