This vacancy is for a WG-5306-10, HVAC Equipment Mechanic and for an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), First Coast Guard District, Sector New York, Facilities Engineering Division in Staten Island, New York.
You will serve as an HVAC Equipment Mechanic or an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic and be responsible for preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and repairs; and job orders utilizing the basic building/construction trades. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Installing, repairing, overhauling and/or performing service and preventative maintenance on a variety of commercial and residential equipment including air conditioners, air compressors, oil/gas fired low pressure steam and hot water boilers, chillers, furnaces controls and ancillary equipment. Troubleshooting and diagnoses equipment to trace and locate defects and malfunctions.

Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs to air conditioning units up to 200 tons, cooling towers, dehumidification units. Must have EPA Certification for Air Conditioning Systems prior to employment.
